Other Information: Constructed in the early 2000's, the Chanute Community Sports Complex has hosted numerous games over the years. This complex has been used by Chanute High School, Royster Middle School, Neosho County Community College as well as for countless community activities, practices and games. This multi-million dollar facility contains an infield that is an all weather turf playing surface as well as track lights, locker rooms, and a concession stand. The track surface was replaced just a couple years ago and features an 8 lane sandwich layer surface. The complex features 3 different runways that can be oriented either direction for the horizontal jumps, a Pole Vault runway that can go either direction as well as 2 high jump aprons, 2 discus rings, 2 shot put rings, 2 javelin runways and a Hammer Throw Cage. The Chanute Community Sports Complex also features a practice field behind the West bleachers for multi-sport usage. On the West side of the complex, you will find "Home Seating" which seats upwards of 1,200 individuals. Above the seating is a 3 room, heated and cooled, press box with individual sections for event workers, coaches and radio stations alike. This press box also features an elevator system as well as designated handicap seating on both the North and South exterior portions of the box. The "Visitor Seating" is located on the East side of the stadium and is built to seat upwards of 150-200 individuals. For a small town in Kansas it is quite the facility.
