Congratulations Homecoming Candidates

Fall Homecoming candidates for King are Garrett Almond, Blake Atwood, Bryan Ayala, Kole Barkman, Brayden Dillow, Ryker Donovan, Jacob Guernsey and Tyson Lucas. For Queen are Alyssa Andoyo, Tibernay Beal, Kori Babcock, Alexa Cruz, Timmen Goracke, Brecca Peter, Sabry Trout and Taylor West. Coronation will take place at Friday night's football game at CHS.

CHS cancels series of football games

Chanute High School has canceled all football games for Friday, Sept. 18, Monday, Sept. 21 and next Friday, Sept. 25. The Fall Homecoming ceremony will still take place at 6:30 PM Friday, Sept. 18, at the stadium.

Students It is statewide PTK awareness week. Phi Theta Kappa is an honors scholar group that benefits the community and provides scholarships. They invite anyone who has taken 12 or more college credits with a 3.5 GPA or above. Once you pay a one-time membership fee, you get an automatic $500 scholarship if you go to any four-year college in Kansas. Invitations will come out next week, so if you get one, sign up!

Students If you missed him last time, the Jostens Ring people will be back to take additional Class Ring orders on Friday, Sept. 25th during lunch in the commons. Please remember to bring your order form and deposit. Pick up a packet in the office or design your ring at

Gear Up Gear up will meet Thursday, Sept 24th in the commons during seminar.

Students It's almost the end of 1st quarter! Do you want help with homework? Need to work on some skills and get your grades up? Like free food? Come to CIS Master Your Skills Night on Tuesday, September 29th, from 3 - 5 in the Commons. Sign up with Mrs. Stockebrand in Room 108 if you plan to attend.

Students Volleyball pictures are in and may be picked up in the office. Please don't pick them up during class time.

Students Fall athletes - You may pick up your signs in commons. They are on a table in front of the guidance office.


USDA extends free meals to all students


Online Enrollment Begins July 27

All enrollment forms can be completed and fees paid online.

Students who finished the 2019-2020 school year with Chanute Public Schools should have received an email with directions and a code to enroll online. Parents who did not receive a code or whose email has changed should use the link below to update their email address. A new code will be generated and sent to  you within 24 hours. 

To enroll, parents of returning or new-to-district/kindergarten students should go to the Enroll Online Tab Button on the district’s website. Click on the link for new student OR returning student to begin filling out the forms.

School offices will reopen Aug. 3 for parents or students who want to use a school computer to enroll. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekedays.
